Setting the Table.

With so much change happening in technology daily and feeling like we are attached to our phones, tablets and laptops, the practice of living a simple, honest lifestyle is making waves in the design industry at the moment.

I want to explore this topic with you over the next few weeks and I'd love to hear your thoughts too.  One area that's making an impact is the celebration of food around the dinner table. There is so much talk about food - home cooked, home grown and organic. To compliment this, it seems we are passionate about enjoying life with our loved ones in the kitchen. It's as if we are trying to find some sort of balance between these two worlds - the future and our historic roots.

In any case, I am all for bringing back a more simple lifestyle, where we appreciate the moment we are in - eating a home cooked meal with the family, having drinks with friends and really just enjoying the human contact and conversation.  Consequently, I've noticed a growing trend of personalised tabletop and dinnerware. There is a dinner set to suit your interior, your mood and festive celebrations. It's just a matter of determining what's your style and budget. Here's a few designs I'm loving (and coveting) at the moment.
