It has rained so much this weekend and been dark and gloomy. The perfect recipe for doing some serious interiors research and staying indoors with a hot cuppa in my hand. Here are my weekend musings...
The stormy grey palette of this beautiful image captured this weekend's weather in Melbourne for me. Funnily enough, in amongst the moody palette are these stunning swans, who appear nothing less than calm and graceful. My inspiration for this week...
The Art Series Hotel Group have opened another elegant, boutique hotel designed for the creative traveller. The Schaller Studio in Bendigo was inspired by the working studio of artist, Mark Schaller and immersed in Bendigo's arts & cultural district. I love the use of large scale mosaics for the communal areas and bold, art-inspired spaces to eat, work and sleep.
Lighting is without a doubt, my weakness in the business. This new brass light won my heart instantly with it's conical shape and metal finish. Plus, it was designed with a focus on "the basic elements from the core of the earth, handcrafted from stone and alloys in a timeless assemblages of lights". Story concepts like this, get me every time. Available from Lightly.
Local artist, Esther Stewart is holding a new exhibition at Utopian Stumps called "Endless, That's The Problem". Expanding on her use of geometric patterns and striking colour combinations, I am captivated with her hand painted marble effects that form part of her new works. Esther's exhibition is now on display at Utopian Stumps in Melbourne.
