A whole week in the Big Apple has opened my eyes to many new, quirky and wonderful things I want to share with you. So this week's inspiration is themed - everything New York!
Quintessentially New York, this city is all about the little pooch. Given the small living quarters on the island, it seems almost impossible to be the owner of a dog any bigger than you handbag. So the city has tastefully designed some great ways you can travel around town with your beloved pooch. Steven Alan's Coal Dog Carrier is one stylish way to transport your furry friend when he can't walk the paths (or subways) with you.
If you are keen to build a collection of memorabilia from your travels, then consider a card collection. These beautiful, handcrafted cards are designed by Greenwich Letterpress who stock a variety of illustrations to choose from, including these gorgeous designs of NYC. You can find catchy quotes, sweet images and classic reminders of your time in the city. Display them on your wall, framed, or casually hung using masking or wasabi tape.
If you're looking for incredible textiles for the bedroom and rugs for the floor, then this quaint shop in Brooklyn is a winner. Sharktooth specialise in antique and vintage textiles as well as various floor coverings from Swedish shag to Amish rag, Persian and Caucasian rugs. Their beautiful collections have already been carefully curated based on colour and texture for your convenience. You can't help but want to purchase the entire collection for your home. I touched everything here.
I cannot escape the beauty of Anthropologie. I am completed transfixed by their colour, pattern and texture of their home collection. Australian stylist & designer, Sibella Court (who is also the author of this month's Book/Club read The Stylist's Guide to New York City, is responsible for designing the unique hardware collection available for purchase. Attention to detail with these beautiful handle & knob options will elevate your home's design in just one weekend.
