SPOTTED: The Kettle Black Cafe.

I LOVE a good cafe. One that has such an inviting ambience, one that offers gold class coffee beans and one whose interior makes you wish you could move in tomorrow. Luckily for me, I found such a place.

The Kettle Black in South Melbourne is a light-filled cafe full of understated charm and elegance. I am completely smitten by its interior palette. Warm finishes of soft oak timbers combined with touches of brass and black accents is off-set with pops of green seating and lively plants. The pristine, crisp white backdrop makes this space feel so fresh and inviting - the key elements to any successful eating place for me!

And what about this handsome marble bench and hexagon tiles? These textural layers and carefully curated material selection makes this cafe a design gem! But it's not just a pretty face, they also make awesome coffee using a custom blend from 5 Senses, and on the day I visited, a coffee cart sat outside the front to manage those after a quick takeaway.

Designed by female duo, Kestie Lane and Hana Hakim of Studio You Me located in Melbourne. Their aesthetic is priceless and definitely a favourite of mine.
