Objects of Desire.

I'm always on the look out for art, objects and sculptural pieces that are individual, unusual and maybe a little eccentric. Just to push the boundaries a little and to offer the unexpected in the home. Whether it be to inspire a thought or inject some humour, here's a few pieces I'm loving at the moment.

Mixing metals and stones to create unique sculptural candlestick totems designed by Arik Levy forms part of Forestier's new range this year. The myriad of combinations makes for an exciting, individual tabletop display.

Local Artist Adoni Astrinakis takes on a classic with a little bit of fun. Elvis in Headdress (acrylic on stretched canvas). A self-taught artist, his collection of work would present a playful edition to any home.

The Atelier collection by Dinosaur Designs offers a homewares collection full of bold colours. The Puzzle set above is a gorgeous representation of colour combinations and visual interest. This is definitely the object to fiddle with in times of absent-mindedness and distraction!

LA ceramicist Ben Medansky collaborates with my all time favourite designer Kelly Wearstler on an exclusive collection with Bergdorf Goodman, named Pyrite, that brings an elegantly refined addition to Medansky's unique, minimalist wares (no doubt Kelly's touch!).
