SPOTTED: Wood Melbourne.

I love to discover great new design on our home turf. Not only is it exciting to work with native materials, concepts that resonate with the Australian style of living but to also support a community of people who are "giving it a go" down under.

Wood Melbourne was founded by carpenter, builder, tinkerer and inventor Oliver MacLatchy. With a passion for timber, he has created a range of bathroom fixtures that utilise reclaimed timber for its versatility, tactile nature and ability to tell a story through its ageing process.

There is something in simplicity with it's refined but elegant nature. This range of fixtures really resonates with a warm, lived-in home.

With the release of their second line of products to include concrete and brass finishes, Wood Melbourne explore the beauty of natural and honest materials to offer character and authenticity in the home.

But without a doubt, its the fusion of all three elements - timber, concrete and brass - that really sings true to my heart in its sense of style and timeless appeal.

You can view Wood Melbourne's entire range here or visit their showroom at 146 Melville Rd, West Brunswick.
