Bohemian authenticity.

We have just fallen in love with this home featured in February 2014 issue of Elle Decoration UK. Once a former auto-garage, now converted into a unique, colourful loft-style space.

The owners of this home are not afraid to decorate in their style and taste. Mismatched chairs and vases add character and charm to this dining space.

And what about this living room?  A mix of antique heirloom pieces with a vintage Eames plastic Eiffel Armchair in terracotta.  It just feels like everything in this home has a story to tell.

The natural light and open space of this attic-style bedroom allows the abundance of colour and different styles of furniture to act in unison.  So inviting, warm and welcoming.  Who wouldn't want to sleep here?

Here are our TOP THREE TIPS to achieve this look:

+ Work with your existing pieces of furniture.  The look above is quite eclectic and not all the furniture is from one period of time.  So use any heirloom pieces you have and mix them with flea market finds, contemporary purchases and DIY pieces.

+ Add colour through furniture and accessories.  The foundations of this home work from a neutral base of white walls and timber floors.  This allows you to accessorise with colour in a balanced, considered way.

+ To achieve cohesion throughout the home, be consistent in furniture and colour theme in all rooms.  This will help create harmony.

This week on our social media we will explore some of our favourite rooms and how they achieve their authentic style. So follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to keep in touch!
