Caribbean Dreams.

There is only one week to go before SbyD sets sail overseas.  As I have probably already told you, our first stop is a personal one, our honeymoon in the Caribbean.  While I will be taking a couple of weeks off to sit back, relax and enjoy this special moment in time for my husband and I,  its no doubt going to be a reflective one.  So much has happened since I decided to leave the law and start up a new career in a completely different industry.

The Caribbean has always been one of those very special places in my mind.  I have never been there before but I am EXTREMELY excited to touch base somewhere new.  It has always represented something exotic and romantic and so the perfect location in my mind for a honeymoon.

Having only recently been married, people have asked us why would we pack up everything and go travelling when so many of our family and friends are setting up new homes and starting families?  Shouldn't we be doing this?

And for us the simple answer is why not? While most of our adventures overseas will be for work, we otherwise want to explore what its like to live somewhere else. What excites people in their home town? What do they do differently to us here in Australia? What similar tastes do we share? While we have done some travelling in the past, due to employment commitments, we have never had the chance to stay on for any extended period of time and live "like a local".

For me, the timing just feels right.  What I've learnt so far is that you create your own happiness.  Sometimes people will support it, sometimes people will question it.  But it doesn't matter as long as you are happy. If it makes sense to you, then do it.  I'm not one to sit back and dream forever.  Sooner or later,  you need to turn your dreams into reality and this is what we are trying to do.

What are your dreams?  And what are you doing to make them come true?
